Please note: This treatment is not recommended for active cystic acne, as the suction process may spread bacteria. If you're unsure whether this is right for your skin, reach out through the contact form and I'll help you decide.

What to Expect

During the treatment you'll feel a cool, refreshing suction sensation as the device moves across your skin. It is completely painless — most clients describe it as a relaxing wet massage.

Immediately following your session, your skin will look instantly brighter, tighter, and more hydrated. There is zero downtime — you can return to your daily activities immediately, though I recommend letting your skin breathe for a few hours to soak in the nutrients before applying makeup.

For optimal skin health, an Aqua Peel every 4 weeks maintains clarity and hydration levels.

Possible Side Effects

Temporary mild redness that typically subsides within 30 minutes as the skin adjusts to the deep cleansing and hydration infusion. Slight tightness is normal as the skin absorbs the moisture — this is the treatment working. Minor sun sensitivity following resurfacing is expected — always apply SPF after your session.

This Treatment Is Not Suitable If You:

  • Have active cystic acne
  • Have sunburned or wind-burned skin
  • Have open sores or contagious skin conditions
  • Have severe rosacea or extremely fragile skin
  • Have had recent facial surgery within the last 6–12 weeks

Please disclose all allergies on your intake form.

Pre-Treatment Care

Before Your Session
  • Injectables & Advanced Treatments: Botox, Dysport, Dermal Fillers, and laser treatments should be avoided for at least 2 weeks prior.
  • Exfoliation: Refrain from Retinols, AHAs, and BHAs for 3–5 days prior to avoid over-sensitizing the skin.
  • Waxing & Hair Removal: Avoid waxing, threading, or depilatory creams on the treatment area for at least 48 hours before your session.
  • Sun Exposure: Do not come with an active sunburn. Your appointment will be forfeited if the skin is damaged or peeling.
  • Hydration: Increase water intake for 48 hours leading up to your appointment for best plumping results.
  • Face Prep: Arrive with a clean face, free of heavy makeup or mineral sunscreens.

Post-Treatment Care

After Your Session
  • Immediate Aftercare: You may experience slight redness or tightness immediately following — this typically subsides within 30–60 minutes.
  • Exercise & Heat: Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs for the first 24 hours.
  • Sun Protection: Apply SPF 30+ daily and avoid direct sun exposure for at least 72 hours.
  • Skincare Actives: For 48–72 hours, do not use Retinols, Vitamin C serums (low pH), or exfoliating acids. Stick to gentle, hydrating cleansers and moisturizers.
  • Makeup: Wait at least 6–12 hours before applying makeup to allow the antioxidant serums to fully absorb. If needed, use a high-quality mineral powder.
  • Hydration is Key: Use a hydrating hyaluronic acid serum or your recommended moisturizer morning and night to maintain results.
  • Avoid Picking: If you experience any minor flaking in the days following, allow the skin to shed naturally — do not pick or scrub.

Questions

Common Questions

How is this different from a Hydrafacial?

Same general approach — a vortex-suction device that cleanses, exfoliates, and infuses serums in a single tool. The difference is the protocol and products.

The Korean Aqua Peel uses serums formulated for hydration-first resurfacing — gentler exfoliation, deeper moisture infusion, and a "glass skin" finish rather than the brighter-but-tighter result Hydrafacial is known for. The Aqua Peel is the right choice if your skin runs sensitive or dehydrated, or you want the Korean-skincare result specifically.

Will my skin be red afterward?

Most clients see only a brief flush that settles within 30 minutes. The treatment is genuinely non-irritating — no acids, no peeling, no downtime.

You can go straight back to your day. I recommend skipping makeup for a few hours so the antioxidant serums fully absorb.

How often should I do this?

For ongoing skin clarity, every 4 weeks. The hydration result fades naturally as your skin cycles over; a consistent rhythm holds the glass-skin finish.

For an event or a specific concern, a single session delivers immediate visible result — book it 24–72 hours before to let any minor flush settle and let the serums fully integrate.

Can I combine this with other treatments?

Yes — the Aqua Peel pairs beautifully with the Restorative Facial or Soothe Lymphatic Drainage in the same visit, or as an add-on.

It's also safe between microneedling sessions or as a clarity treatment between deeper structural work.

Who shouldn't book this?

The Aqua Peel is not recommended if you have active cystic acne, sunburned or wind-burned skin, open sores, contagious skin conditions, severe rosacea, or extremely fragile skin. If you've had facial surgery in the last 6–12 weeks, wait until you've fully healed.
